Birthplace: Los Gatos, California

Inspired by his artist grandfather, Michael Provenza began drawing and painting at age nine. He has won many awards in local and regional art competitions and has exhibited in well-known art galleries around the country.

At an early age, Michael developed a pointillist style in black and white, and then applied it to color, using color depth and positive and negative space to capture realistic images. Later, he became active in the computer arts, creating 3D character animations and background environments for leading gaming companies. However, his paintings are never digitally enhanced or altered.

Michael's painting style, characterized by pointillism and a distinctive use of color and light, incorporates traditional and contemporary art techniques. His passion is to create landscapes that bring you into the painting where you can feel engaged with the diverse qualities of nature.
